I’m Mark Teran, “Your Mortgage Man,” a Mortgage Advisor with American Pacific Mortgage. I started in the mortgage industry in 1986 while attending college in San Jose, learning the business from my mother.
Growing up in rentals and experiencing financial insecurity made housing stability personal to me. I’ve used what I learned to create stability in my own life, and I want to help others find their path as well.
I joined American Pacific Mortgage in 2019. Today, I help people who want to buy, move, refinance, or make a change in their housing situation understand their options and develop a plan around their needs and long-term goals.
Serving the Greater Sacramento area — Sacramento, Placer, and El Dorado counties — plus clients throughout California and Nevada.

Wherever I am, I prefer to stay active!
Off the clock
Mountain biking, skiing and snowboarding, boating, paddleboarding, and pickleball. I also enjoy live music and getting together with friends for a barbecue. At home, I like making up melodies on the piano for fun, relaxing with a good movie, and having a little downtime.
Fun fact
I’ve gone on safari in Kenya, zip-lined in Costa Rica, and explored Croatia, Bosnia, and Slovenia. I enjoy discovering new places and having a little adventure along the way.

Ten years on the Sacramento Association of REALTORS® Can Tree Committee raising funds for the Salvation Army, about 15 years with Woodmore Oaks Neighborhood Watch, and co-founder of Blue Ribbon Professional Network.
A soft spot for dogs
I’ve fostered about seven dogs since losing my two beloved shepherds, Momma Maxie and her daughter, Bambie, who was born in my home.
An accomplishment I’m proud of
Having grown up in rentals and experienced financial insecurity, owning a paid-off home and a debt-free portfolio of seven rental units is especially meaningful to me. My experience in the mortgage business helped me build that foundation — and it’s why I care about helping others make thoughtful decisions that support greater stability, security, and freedom in their own lives.
